| Two men were walking in the woods. They came upon a
deep hole in the ground. They wondered to each other just how deep the hole was, so
they decided to toss some stones in the hole. They listened, but they heard no
sound. So they decided to pick up some large rocks and toss them in the hole.
Again, they listened, but they could hear no sound. Searching through the brush, that
found a large railroad tie. The two men dragged it over to the hole, and heaved it
in. Again, they listened, but heard no sound. Suddenly, out of the brush came
a goat running is fast as it could. It ran past the two men, leaped up in the air,
and quickly jumped down the hole.
The two men just stared at each other. "What a strange sight that was"
they thought.
A few minutes later, a farmer came by. "Have you seen my goat?" he
asked. "We sure did" they said and told the farmer what they had seen.
"Oh, that couldn't have been my goat." said the farmer. "I had him
chained to a railroad tie". |
