Discussion: Just between you and me, I think that the white is hiding there in all the other colors just waiting for another snowflake because there is nothing so fresh and clean as the newly fallen snow.  Or maybe God could not decide what color to make snow, so he gave it all the colors and when it melts He keeps them for another time.  That was good enough for me.  How about you?  Where do you think the white goes?

Every story has a beginning, a middle, and an end.  The beginning tells us who, what, where, and when.  The middle tells us what happened and gives us feelings and pictures.  The end tells us why or gives a conclusion.  Check our story for these parts.

Can you tell me the story elements:

  • Who was there?  (Mom, Dad, and I)
  • What were we doing?  (Reading and doing homework)
  • When did the story take place?  (One evening)
  • Where the story took place?  (In the living room)
  • Why did I have a question?  (Did not want to do my homework)
  • What did we talk about?  (Color, snow)
  • Where does color come from?  (Sun)
  • What feelings did the story have?  (Order, comfort, puzzle, sleepy)
  • Tell me what the living room looked like and draw a picture...
