Pause in Indiana - cemeteries - Source Documents

We wish to leave behind a legacy to be remembered, a path for others to follow, and an image to be admired.  To do this profoundly, we often place inscription on our tombstone.  The following poem was found on a tombstone in Indiana:

"Pause, stranger when you pass by
As you are now, so once was I.
As I am now, so you will be,
So prepare for death and follow me."

One who passed did not fully appreciate the inscription's invitation and scratched the following reply:

"To follow you, I am not content
Until I know which way you went."

Although I have the quote and state, I do not have the remainder of the stone inscription or it's location.  If you can correct the quote or fill in the missing information, please click on contact me.
