We Pools have all listened to the stories told by our Grandmother, Cora Gerald (Pool), which were meant to entertain the children. Among the stories were tales of relationships to the Royal family of England.  Nobody took these as fact, but she insisted that they were.

My grandmother appears to have been correct.  If she is part of the Royal family, then we are also.  I have uncovered an unverified link to "support" her claim.  The following is a description of that link:

--------------------

The Slocombs and Goolds came to the US and changed not only their names but also their chances of remaining in the "Royal" picture.  The "land of opportunity" has served us well and in ways never anticipated, but we can still proudly proclaim our English heritage.  Dispite the claims of my mother of our "nearly pure English" heritage, the Royal Family has it's roots throughout Europe and the other family lines also show great diversity.   Another connection is from Acadia (Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, Canada) which contained British, French, German, and Swiss.
