Vital Records Searches

I do extensive and exhaustive searches for Vital Records at the New York City Municipal Archives.

True, one can mail a request in to the Archives Staff and get good service, but occasionally a search requires a more "intuitive" touch to achieve results. If all parameters of a mail order search are not specified and paid for in advance you are likely to receive a "not found" notice from the Archives. Sometimes all that is required is a search in another County. Or, in a year or two before or after the date you think your ancestor was born or died or was married. The Archives Staff cannot do extensive searches on their own, while an on-site researcher is free to practice a more "flexible" and intuitive approach to a search. I have had good success in finding many Records which had previously been "not found" in mail order searches.

When a research job requires a search spanning multiple years, I can almost certainly save you money over a mail order request. Please contact me for further details.
