The Citroen CX

I bought a 1985 Citroen CX 25 GTi from a couple
in Los Angeles who also has an SM, a Traction Avant, an ID19, and a DS23.
The CX is a very unique car! When it was first introduced in 1974, it was a
very technically advanced car. My particular CX has:
- 2.5 liter petrol 4 cylinder engine - 138hp
- These engines are known known for their durability. It is not uncommon for
them to go over 300,000 miles without the need for a rebuild.
- Completely self centering hydraulic powered
DIRAVI steering with a single spoke steering wheel.
- Completely powered brakes (no brake pedal
travel....the brake "pedal" works off foot-pressure which then applies
proportial hydraulic pressure to the front 4 piston calipers and rear 2 piston
calipers
- Hydro-pneumatic suspension (4 nitrogen/LHM
spheres at 2100 psi replace springs and shocks)
- Wheels remain completely perpendicular with
respect to the road throughout entire range of wheel travel
- Rotating bathroom-scale type drums for instruments
- Front airdam: this was quite rare in 1974
for a passenger car
