                                                             10/08/04 - 10/10/04

                                                            (Summary By Josh G.)

Friday afternoon we left the church around 5:35. We stopped about 6:30 at a rest area to have dinner, and stayed there for about half an hour before getting back on the road. About 8:30 to 9:00, we got to camp and started to unpack. We set up p-boxes and the leaders canopy, and then set up tents. Lights out was at 11:00.
Saturday morning we got up at 7:00 and fixed omlets in a bag for breakfast. Before we left camp, we made sandwiches to keep in the cars. We left camp around 10:00 and got there around 10:15. There was a problem with the computer not letting a man in front of scan his membership card, so we had to wait a while. While we were waiting, a nice man gave us a couple of coupons that saved us over $50. We got in the park at around 11:00am.
After we got in we rode rides such as Top Gun, The Borg Assimilator, Hurler, Drop Zone, Carolina Cyclone, Vortex, Rcochet, and Thunder Road. At 1:00pm we met at the south gate and went to the cards and ate the sandwiches we made at camp.
After lunch we rode more rides. Apparently, some of the scouts who will remain nameless, decided they were hot, so they rode some water rides and came out drenching wet. We met at the south gate at 5:30 and left. We got back to camp at around 6:15 and started dinner. We cooked dutch oven chicken casserole, which was delicious. We made a campfire and did skits. After the campfire we ate peach cobbler, which was extremely good. Lights out was again at 11:00.
On Sunday we got up at 7:00 and started to cook pancakes and bacon for breakfast. After breakfast we packed up and did a police line. Some scouts then led a wonderful church service. We left camp at 11:30, and hit some heavy traffic that forced us to skip our usual stop for lunch. We got to the church at 1:30 and unpacked the trailer by 1:45. Once we were unpacked the parents arrived and scouts were dismissed. We had a great trip, and look forward to many more.
