This council-wide service project has Scouts and Cubs out all around the area each year collecting non-perishable
food items. This year, on February 8th, Scouts distributed plastic bags to each house in most neighborhoods and then collected
the food on the 14th. This service project is wonderful for the community, because it takes very little effort to donate the
food - just put it in the bag provided and leave it on the doorstep the next Saturday! Our troop had a great turnout both
weekends, and we collected quite a bit of food. We also had several volunteers (both youth and adult leaders) we then helped
unload and organize the donations at our district's collection center. Many thanks to all those who helped out (especially
the drivers!), and we look forward to seeing you next year.
