At the Jamestown Public Library I set up luminaries. There were about 12 volunteers, half of them other Scouts. At 3:30 we started sorting out the bags, and then when they were all sorted we put sand in their bottoms. When that was done we placed them appropriately and put a candle in each of them. We began to light the candles at dusk, and watched over the luminaries to make sure that none blew out, and that none of the bags ignited. At about 8:15 we started extinguishing the candles and cleaning out the bags. The event was a wonderful fundraiser - personalized bags were available for $1.00 per bag. All involved had a great time.
