4) Consider every purchase carefully and ask yourself if you really need the item or whether it will just be another tag sale item two years from now. If so, put it into your retirement account instead. Some is good, more is better, enough is best.
5) When you do purchase items, also consider their ability to be repaired as opposed to some brands for which that may not be possible.
6) Where possible, make copies using both sides of a sheet of paper.
7) Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.
8) A penny earned is a penny saved.

2) When considering a new lawnmower, consider a mulching mower or, better yet, consider an electric lawn mower. There are even models available which use photovoltaic panels to keep them charged.
