Two first year women, offended by posters
advertising a frat party, put up parodies inviting readers to a
"grab-and-feel-you-up" party and referring to the frat men as
"pigs." While some members of the frat felt that the parody
posters were a form of libel, the men and women met and discussed
the protest in a manner the women felt was mature and objective.
It is worth noting that while the young women felt that the tone
of the original posters carried a tone of sexual harassment, they
did not accuse the frat of illegality or request that it be
punished, nor did they feel a law suit should be filed. Further,
the university student affairs staff seems to have refrained from
threatening either side with penalties for violations of a code
regulating student conduct.
