Muriel - What's in a name...

My grandmothers were named Myrtle and Marge!  Sounds like quite a pair!  Complete opposite as they were, they both taught me wonderful lessons in life, so I wanted to honor them in my daughter's name.  The name had to be an "M" name.  Old Fashioned was a must.

So that is where I started - and all signed started to point to Muriel.

• I wanted a name with a religious connection - Muriel is a form of Mary
• Muriel means "shining sea"  - a vision of the great and beautiful ocean separating us.
• And, later, my friend Lisa pointed out that Muriel is the guardian angel of June.  My paperwork to adopt went to China in June of 2005 and I today I received my referral, in June of 2006!

YuYu, 宇宇, means universe, so this child, born on the winter solstice enters this world as we say goodbye to darkness and hello to light. She is a child of the universe born in the east, raised in the west!  I couldn't be more in love with my darling child.
