Autumn
The first frost
Chilly air nipping at your nose
Trees dancing in the wind,
Golden leaves floating to the frosted ground,
Clouds hovering overhead.
Rakes scraping,
Children laughing,
The smell of fire from a chimney.
Itchy feeling of a warm, woolen sweater.
Cheering fans at football games.
Costumes galore on the thirty-first of October.
Crisp pies baking,
A dog barking in the distance.
Apples straight off the tree,
Turkey roasting in the oven for hours on end.
Flowers surrendering to the weather.
Feeling full after a wonderful turkey dinner with family.
Climbing up the creaky stairs.
Cars whizzing by sending leaves swirling around the pavement.
The sudden burst of cold air as you step into your room.
Sneaking candy under your bed to save for later.
Lights going out.
Hopping into bed after a long day.
Wrapping the blankets around you shielding yourself from
the chilly air.
Drifting off to a peaceful sleep.
Dreams of frost and the next Autumn day to come.

Autumn
The crackling leaves under feet,
Fresh out of the oven pumpkin pie,
The morningšs crisp air,
Old man winter beginning to nip at our noses,
Visions of scarecrows, jack-o-lanterns, and colorful trees,
Rakes scraping across the cold ground,
Gost and goblins knocking at the door yelling "Trick or Treat",
Apple pie all crisp and tasty,
The smell of smoke from the fireplaces,
Foliage in the far away mountains,
Whistling of the crisp cold wind,
Hints of sweet Halloween candy,
Falling leaves, trees, and cold wind,
Numbness of your fingers and toes,
Football games, screaming fans, and loud music,
Leaves falling on the frosty earth,
Apple cider by the gallons,
Autumn comes rolling around the corner.
