One sits in dismal conditions
Mourning for those who are gone
Holding on to painful memories,
Memories of the tragic fate of millions.
One stands for the hope of the survivors
Millions of prayers for those who have gone,
Prayers that will never be answered
White with hope for those who remain.
Let your music flow forth from the keys.
Let your story be told.
Unleash your sorrow for those who will never hear your song.
Play with pride and hope for those who still can.
Black keys to remind you
That sorrow will never leave your side
As you sit at the bench the same reminder calls out
Screaming never to forget those who have gone.
White keys are there as a prayer of hope
Reminding you that you have survived
Calling out with a warning
A warning never to let it happen again.
Stare down at the piano keys
Let your music show,
You have survived everything
Proof you are strong.
Never let your music go.
Never let your memories die.
Hold onto everything you hold dear.
They are never gone as long as you don't forget.
Remember your music.
Play for those who can never hear.
Tell their stories in the notes your fingers create
So everyone can know.
Remember your music.
Play for those who can still hear your song.
Play each note as a story of hope.
They also survived and are ready to listen to every note.
Your music can help you
In many more ways than one
It will comfort you in your sorrow
And it will share in your joy.
