The Moon

by Abigail K.

Dancing across the sky
Bathing everything in mystery
Casting eerie shadows across my face.

Performing each night
As the lead in a midnight ballet

The sky is nothing but a stage
For the moon's midnight debut

The world is nothing more than a museum
To house the moon's lacy works of art

Every night it dances
Until at sunrise the curtain falls

Forever silent in the sky
Unaware of the audience it holds in awe

Silent and mysterious
The prima hallerina in the sky.
