Sweet Delights ! ! !

Candy

by Jennifer S.

When it comes to food,
I like mine sweet,
Wrapped in a wrapper,
From the store down the street.

It's hard to resist
As I'm walking by,
These candies are calling me,
"Buy me, Jen, buy!"

I pay with my pennies
For these miniature treats,
Such as Lemonheads, Gobstoppers,
LifeSavers, or Peeps.

Whether it's yellow or blue,
Or orange, you see,
As long as its sugar,
It tastes good to me!

Starburst Jellybeans

by Shawna R.

Ever try to eat Starburst Jellybeans?
First you throw one up,
And wait,
wait, wait,
Until finally it fall into your mouth
Splashing your tongue with color and flavor
You ponder what color you caught
The exotic fruit flavor
Lagging behind in your mouth.
Ever try to eat a Starburst Jellybean my way?

Just One Treat

by Cheryl G.

Drooling on the window
Hungrily staring at the delights
Chocolate, vanilla and all the more
God I wish I lived there
In that amazing store.

The nicely wrapped candies
All those delicious treats
Baskets full of candy
More than you could ever eat.

One thought comes to mind
While walking by the store
Candy, cakes and doughnuts
All the goodies galore.

I cry and beg
Just for one little sweet
My Mom tells me "No"
But I still plead for just one little treat,

I walk away slowly
Leaving the candy filled store
Saying to myself slowly
"I should have begged some more,"

The Magic of Chocolate

by Brendan S.

I enjoy chocolate milk.
I love the rush
of chocolatey goodness on my tongue.
The syrup drips from the bottle,
I stir vigorously until
like magic . . .
plain milk
turns terrifically
into chocolate milk
Then I gulp it down
and it's all gone.
