I worked directly with the doctor to get the information needed for this piece.
When creating medical art or anything technical like this, you must be totally accurate.
The cross section of the heart was from a 3D model that I modified.
Once I got the correct shape from the 3D software, I entered the data into Photoshop for the final effects.
The needles are also done and positioned in 3d using Lightwave and then copied over to Photoshop.
This illustration, along with the text (not shown), was used as a slide and in a published article.
