Graduating from Stanford in 1950, Jerry Franks, for over forty years, recruited engineers for Silicon Valley companies. In 2001, he retired. For two years, he did research for this novel at the Palo Alto Library, Stanford Archives, and Hoover’s Presidential Library. 

He and his wife, Irene, live in Aptos, California.
