Descendants of Robert Bell
Robert and Jane Anderson Bell
This old pioneer family came to Brown Co.,
Il about 1832. The story of their journey can be found on Pages 74 and
270 in "1786-1882 History of Schuyler and Brown County", and also in "The
Biographical Review of Cass Schuyler and Brown 1892."
The old patriarch of the Bell Family was born
in Virginia in 1772 and died 9-25-1858 in Missouri Township, Sec. 29 SE
1/4 Brown Co. and is buried in the Bell Cemetery near their homestead.
He married Jane Anderson Born 1780 in Pennsylvania. It is not known when
she died, but she is buried next to her husband. In their journey from
Virginia the Census records show that several of their children were born
in Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana. Nine children are accounted for in
this family, but we have no record of deaths of any others that may have
been born.
