Descendants of John Mann
and Mary Elisabeth Coffman Fultz
John M. Fultz was a volunteer in the Civil War- Co E ll5 Indiana Regt. He moved to Quincy Ill sometime after the war and appeared in the 1880 Fed. Census with wife Mary E. Coffman Fultz and 3 children. John was age 37- Mary age 25- Charles age 5- Oliver age 3- Albert age 10 mo. At one time he had a business in Quincy, Fultz and Harrup telescopic egg carrier and held varius other jobs. Earl Baron Fultz was born in 7-l5-85 and was the youngest living child. Wife Mary died on 3-12-1920. John had a paralyzing stroke and entered the Soldiers and Sailors Home in Quincy Ill on 4-6-1922 and he died there on -8-1924. He is buried in Sunset Cemetery on the grounds of the Home. He is buried in Division 2, row l5, with a Civil War grave marker. John is listed on the Roll of Honor, Illinois Solders.

Letter sent to Dept. of Interior 6-25-1915 regarding pension
Gentlemen:

" My parents left Perrysville, Indiana where I was born, they left then in 1850 and came to Illinois and stayed there through 1860. I went back to Perrysville and enlisted in the 115, Indiana Infantry at Indianapollis on the 18th day of July, 1863. My mothers name was Sidney Ann Boggs Fultz. She died in 1850. My father's name was William Valentine Fultz and my sister's name was Josephine Viola Fultz Clark. " My father died in l904 and my sister in 19l2 and my mother died in 1850. I am the only survivor of the family, so you see, I lived through the 50's and 60's in Springfield, Illinois. " John Mann Fultz 6-26-1915.

When I wrote to the National Archives in DC, for his Civil War records I received l6 pages of information pertaining to his pension records.
