Agggh, I have no energy. I have a million things I ought to be doing right now, and writing this entry seems like the most painless one. I don't have the energy to vacuum or analyze the data I collected at work this morning or read the big stack of statistics papers I have sitting on my desk, and I certainly don't have the energy to do situps or yoga.
I've spent most of the weekend the same way I spent most of my week: at work. My evenings have been pretty busy, too. On Wednesday night, Andy and I had wine class, and we had to make a decision: class went from 7 until 9 p.m. and the "Survivor" finale was from 8 until 10! We decided to stay until the end of class, tape the first hour of "Survivor" and then start watching at the beginning of the second hour. Then afterwards, we had to watch the reunion show. Later, we were going to go back and watch the first hour, but Andy went home, so I watched it by myself. And then the entire cast was on David Letterman, so I was going to watch that, too, but then I fell asleep. It was the most television I've watched in quite some time.
Thursday night, I saw Andy again, but it was coincidental. Phil and I went to go see a movie entitled "The Soong Sisters" and ran into Andy and his roommate there. The movie was good but long. By the time I got home, it was time to go to bed.
Friday, I went in to work early, left late, and fell asleep at 7 p.m. A couple of hours later, I woke up and did laundry, and then fell back asleep.
Can you tell yet why I haven't been writing?
I just haven't really had any time to myself. And then there's the fact that work is kind of stressing me out, and when I'm stressed, I have a hard time focusing my energy on any one thing...like writing a diary entry.
Saturday, I worked. Today I worked. I did go down to San Bruno for Lucy's party last night, which was quite an impressive event, although I was kind of too tired and stressed out to enjoy it. I spent most of the evening chatting with Eleanor where we made plans for me to buy one of her bookshelves when she moves to New York, to inherit her never used hibachi grill, and to take a road trip down to L.A. some weekend in September (which sounds really fun to me, although it's highly doubtful either of us will actually have time to do it).
I think we may have shocked some of the other guests with our R-rated conversation topics, especially one inspired by something Eleanor had seen in a Dan Savage column. But hey, otherwise we might not have made an impression.
In the forum: road trips.
