Augh, I feel totally horrible.

When I woke up this morning, it was cold and damp. It never gets really cold here, but when it's chilly out, there's nowhere to go to get away from it. Buildings back east are well-heated and well-insulated. Here, I have a heater, but my apartment is so drafty that all the heat seeps out the windows.

So, I had a nagging cough all morning, but figured it was just the cold air making me asthmatic (I just had to look in the dictionary to make sure I spelled "asthmatic" right. That's one of the two words I can never remember how to spell. The other one is "hemorrhage." Yup, I just looked that up too.)

This afternoon, I went to go see "American Movie" with Phil ("American Beauty" was playing at the same time in the same theater, so we had to enunciate clearly when buying our tickets). The movie was great, but I coughed incessantly throughout it and emerged from the theater feeling decidedly crappy (the movie was so good, I didn't regret going to it even though it made me sick! How's that for an endorsement?).

I went home, took a nap, and woke up feeling even worse. Stupid immune system. I just had a whole week and a half off, and it picks the day before school starts to conk out on me!

I didn't feel like leaving my apartment, so I just had some Chinese food delivered for dinner. It wasn't very good. In fact, I don't think I've ever had really good Chinese food in San Francisco, which is surprising seeing as how this city is rife with both terrific restaurants and Chinese people. You'd think there would be some overlap. I'm sure there actually is, but the half dozen establishments I've been to here have offered nothing but criminally overcooked vegetables drowned in flavorless sauces.

Other than that, I haven't done much today.

I just took my temperature. 99.8. But I think the worst is probably yet to come.
