Golfing With Chachi
I'm tired of the lies.
Everyone always says, "Hey, you live in Los Angeles ... I bet
you see celebrities all the time!" Well, it's not always that simple.
Sometimes you do, sometimes you don't. I always say, "Not really,"
but now, I can lie to you no more. This is a town crawling with celebrities,
and you're bound to run in to them sooner or later.
Over the past week, I've had more than my share of celebrity sightings.
Granted, I'm a TV News Writer/Producer, and yes, my workplace is located
smack dab in the middle of a big Hollywood movie studio. But these celebrity
sightings all happened outside of work. Here are photos, and captions,
of each sighting. Beware -- this page may take a long, long time to load!
The photos are coming in from all over the Internet, so you may have to
hit reload, or otherwise coax your browser into displaying this celeb-filled
page to its celeb-filled potential.
Here they are, in no particular order, people with whom my path crossed over the past week:
![]() |
| Scott Baio, TV's "Chachi". Saw
him at the Studio City Golf Course. |
| My golfing buddy, Darlene Vogel, from the
hit USA Network show "Pacific Blue." We (my friend Tom and I) played a round of golf with her and an actor friend of hers. Yowza. |
| Golf-a-holic Lea Thompson, also seen at the Studio City Golf Course. |
| Michael Eisner, CEO of the Walt Disney Company. Saw him in the Mighty Ducks locker room following the Mighty Ducks 4-2 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes in Game Two of their Stanley Cup Playoff Division Semi-Final game. (I had locker room and press box access through KCAL's sports department, who graciously let me tag along for the game. Thanks, guys!) |
| Mighty Duck winger Joe Sacco. Technically not a celebrity, but an origainal Mighty Duck, and he laughed at a joke I told while waiting for a live interview. I also gave him a "flat tire" while walking to the said interview. (I was a bit nervous.) |
| King of the Driving Range, Richard Kind. From both "Mad About You" and "Spin City." Hitting balls at the Studio City Golf Course. |
| The Muscles from Brussels, Jean Claude Van
Damme. Seen on Santa Monica's Third Street Promenade while I was eating dinner tonight. He was there to see a movie (not his own -- it was playing across the street). |
| Gary Busey. Also going to a movie tonight
on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica. |
| Show me the golf course! Cuba Gooding Junior, seen at Studio City's finest links. |
Okay? Is that enough? Have I re-affirmed my "Hollywood Boy" credentials for the time being? I hope so. Frankly, these celebs are starting to get on my nerves.
