Artist Biography

Jeannette AC Johnson lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina with her husband, photographer Tony Patterson.

Ms. Johnson is inspired by her love of travel and nature. She enjoys kayaking North Carolina’s Outer Banks as well as exploring the mountains of her native state. Her interests include gardening and meteorology.

Ms. Johnson is a member of the Orange County Artists Guild.

Artist’s Statement

"Being an artist allows me to look more deeply at my surroundings. Art is the way in which I open myself up and connect with the world around me. It encourages me to seek out things often overlooked and to explore the subtle beauty that can be found in everyday objects and places."

"Whether an individual piece is stylised or more naturalistically rendered, I prefer preserving a sketchy quality in the finished piece. I believe that art materials are beautiful substances in their own right and like to maintain a feeling of freshness and spontaneity in my handling of the materials."
