Hawaii Photos

We're quite the globe-trotting family these days. Thanks to my assignment working in Jackson, MS, I have garnered a ton of frequest-flyer miles on Delta, and got me a set of 3 free round-trips to Hawaii. So, now, we've been over half-way around the world now. Cool, huh?

Anyway, it was a one-week trip (I hate being a contract programmer, sometimes!), and it wasn't nearly enough to see everything we wanted just on Oahu. To see larger versions of any photo, just click on it!

Hawaii, 2000

James and me, on the beach where we were staying, at sunrise.

Deb on the beach at sunrise. We watched every sunrise we could. An easy thing, considering the jet lag!

A spectacular view of Kaneohe Bay, just off Interstate H-3

A view of Pearl Harbor from the Arizona Memorial. The big rusty thing is the top of Arizona's #3 gun turret.

Deb and I pose in front of the anchor salvaged from the USS Arizona.

A view of one of the most arid places I've ever visited - the inside of the volcanic crater called Diamondhead.

It's a shame these photos can't properly convey the beauty of the view from Diamondhead!

One of our SCUBA trip photos. A view of Leeward (western end) Oahu. Also a bit arid, but ruggedly beautiful!

James finally poses, at the summit of Diamondhead.

Deb and Eric at the top of Diamondhead. Very windy up there. No wonder this place was called the home of the God of Wind!

A view of Koko Head, on the Windward (eastern) end of the island.

From the center of the island, we got a good look at one of the many rainbows that grace Oahu.

Deb and James pose at the entrance to the Polynesian Cultural Center.

Deb went snorkeling with us on our Leeward side dive trip.
