As I was making my way up the canyon trail I was surprised to see this rather large snake making its' way across the trail.
At first I thought it was a rattlesnake as they are very common in this area.
Upon closer inspection it was not a rattlesnake.
 Notice the large bulge in the middle part of the snake.
He must have just had a meal of ground squirrel or small rabbit.  He let me take a couple of photos and then he hurried
on across the trail and into the bush.
