Wade is a re-enactor and a member of the Franklin Rifles, Camp 310, and Sons of Confederate Veterans. He is active in many other Southern Heritage activities.

Wade Harris and Himself discussing strategy
Wade has been a member of the SCV for about 20 years. He
starte
d in The Camp Smith
Hargrove, #311. He is a charter member of The Franklin Rifles. He has held
the Commander, Lt. Commander, and Adjutant positions. Wade has been involved
with the Reenacting community one-way or the other for over 18 years. He
is a charter member of Manley's Battery Artillery unit and been a member
of the 4th NCST for 10 years. First in Co. E. dismounted Cavalry, and then
with the heavy gun crew. He is also now with the A.P. Hill Third Corp, 1st
Lt. 1st Virginia Provost office, attached.
Wades early years were with his first love, flying, auto racing and music. He has played with various bands over the years in country music clubs in three states. Wade is now with a hobby band and still plays dance dates two or three times a month.
He teaches Sunday school at South Main Baptist Chapel and entertains the shut-ins at the rest homes when asked.
Wade has run the field at Gettysburg, at Cold Harbor twice and at Fort Branch 8 years in a row. He has done hundreds of living history events and given programs on several subjects at SCV, UDC, and round table meetings. Wade is the author of a historical article on the original Franklin Rifles, which you can find at the Franklin Rifle web site below.
