Mary Zemany Dianiska

Feb. 22, 1888 - Mar. 22, 1973

   Mary was born in Freeland, Pennsylvania, the seventh of eight children of Michael and Anna (Koscelnik) Zemany, immigrants from eastern Slovakia (then the Austro-Hungarian Empire.) She married Albert D. Dianiska, a Slovak Lutheran minister, when she was only eighteen. They moved from Freeland to Mahanoy City, PA by 1911 and in late 1915 moved to the near west side of Cleveland to the site of Dr. Martin Luther Evangelical Church on W. 14th St. She was the mother of ten children. This photograph is from a large family gathering in the 1950s.
