NetWorker Installation
- Installation is typically done from CD.
- Software can be downloaded from the web to disk and installed from disk.
- Location
- NetWorker will install its binaries in the appropriate places for the platform.
- You need to select a place for the "nsr" directory, which is where resource files, log files, and index files reside. This can get BIG in a dynamic environment. The install
process will create "/nsr" which is a link to the actual location for the directory.
- Licensing - A purchased package comes with license documents, but you have to contact Legato to obtain the authorization codes for the licenses. The software will work in evaluation mode for 45(?) days until your authorization codes are obtained.
- Clients licenses reside on the server and are
checked out by clients.
- Solaris
- Use "pkgadd" to install LGTOxxxx packages.
- Server - LGTOclnt, LGTOdrvr, LGTOlicm (V6), LGTOnode, LGTOserv, LGTOman.
- Client - LGTOclnt.
- AIX
- Delivered with a tar file and install scripts.
- Use "nsr-ize" script to install.
- Windows NT/2000
- When the CD is loaded, Internet Explorer brings up a window with an install selection.
- Click the appropriate selections.
- The InstallShield program takes over to perform the installation.
- Other platforms - follow instructions found on the CD in the directory for the platform.
- "nsr" directory structure (UNIX example)
