Cambodia: Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh is the fascinating capitol of Cambodia and is worthy of a longer visit than we had time for. Shortly after arrival we took a delightful sunset cruise on the Mekong and we saw the many villages that dot the shore line on both the Cambodian and Thai sides. Other highlights were the Royal Palace and the Central Market, a place of thousands of booths. We also visited Cambodia's memorials to those slaughtered during the awful reign of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge, a horrific period in Cambodia's recent past.
