What
you need for class: Paint (Oil) Mixed White, Lemon Yellow, Permanent Red Medium (Rembrandt), Ultramarine Blue. Extra colors: Warm Gray (Rembrandt), Gray of Gray (Holbein). Brushes Your choice of brushes is a personal preference. I use Flats #2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 16. I also like a “riggers brush”, also called a liner, they are a long bristled brush that comes to a sharp point, #4 is a good size. I prefer soft brushes but also use bristled brushes. Pallet knife. Easel and Pallet (Portable type: French, Russian, Pashod or any of the wonderful new designs available). Be prepared to carry your equipment to location to paint. Grounds You should bring primed cotton or linen mounted on gator foam, masonite or birch panel. The Fredricks Panels and stretched canvas also works well for class. Bring (6) 5” x 7” (6) 11” x 14”, (6) 12” x 16”. Odorless Turpentine & Container Umbrella with clamp (white is best) Wide brimmed hat, sunscreen, bug spray, protective clothing, hiking boots, etc. We will be outside, so be comfortable and prepared. Your painting attire should be tan or darker as white and bright colors will reflect your painting surface. |
