II. Differences in Radio Pulse Characteristics: Jovian vs. Lightning

A portion of the March 15, 2003 Jovian storm (courtest of Radio Jove Archive and John Rock) is shown below. The predictions are very reasonable. A close examination of the numbered spikes will follow.

(Highworth, United Kingdom, John Rock recorded the Jovian Io-A storm on March 15, 2003 21:39-22:01 with an RJ1.1 receiver and a modified dual dipole 20.1 MHz configured in-phase EW. The data is calibrated.)

The average pulse width is 148 msec and total duration is 613 msec.
