Spark Only
MegaJolt - New Code and Hardware - B&G's original ignition box concept uses ion sensing to find optimal spark advance for peak-pressure-point and knock control. Will also do capacitive discharge multisparking. It will interface into UltraMS and likely others for base ignition advance. It is so far off in the future, it doesn't have a website.

MegaJoltLight - Suspended New Code and Hardware - B&G's ignition only box using the Ford EDIS module to provide programmable spark, interfaces with MS. Development has stopped as the controller will now be integrated into the UltraMS that is in current development.

MegaSpark - New Code on MS Hardware - Tom Hafner's ignition only delay control box. Outputs spark trigger on inj-2 FET. Does not have an integrated ignition amplifier. So, it requires a MSD box, or some others have used an HEI module. It is likely the most well tested of all of these solutions.

MegaEDIS - New Code on MS Hardware - Tom Hafner's derivation of MegaSpark. Outputs a spark advance word (SAW) signal on the inj-2 FET for a Ford EDIS module. It also requires the 36-1 trigger wheel and the EDIS amplifer on the engine to provide a PIP input trigger signal.

MegaJoltLiteJr - New Code and Hardware - Brent Picasso's bare-bones ignition controller using EDIS trigger wheel and amplifer. Development moving along on it, he's working on a version 2 board which will solve some issues and be more robust for automotive operation.


Spark and Fuel
UltraMegaSquirt - New Code and Hardware - B&G's latest project that is still in development. It will be available in the shorter term. It will contain MS functionality with an integrated wide band o2 controller, native AFR support and a Ford EDIS controller.

MegaSquirtNSpark - New Code on MS Hardware - Magnus Bjelk's code replaces the fast idle output with a spark trigger output for an ignition amplifier. It requires one input pulse for each cylinder. Can use with hall, VR or optical crank trigger. Likely the second most well-tested option.

MegaSquirtNEDIS - New Code on MS Hardware - James Murray's code replaces the fast idle output with a spark advance word (SAW) output for a Ford EDIS module. It also requires the 36-1 trigger wheel and EDIS amplifer on the engine to provide a PIP input signal and to fire the coil packs.

MegaSquirtNTFI - New Code on MS Hardware - James Murray's BETA code replaces the fast idle output with a spark output (SPOUT) for a Ford TFI module. The PIP input from the TFI module is required on the MS tach line. The GM DIS is somewhat similar and may also work when this firmware is ready.

Tomtek - New Code and Hardware - Tom Dolsky's controller which can drive coil-per-plug ignition systems. Also has integrated bi-polar stepper motor idle control, transmission kickdown and low voltage idle up among other advanced features.

MS-AVR - New Code and Hardware - Marcell Gal's controller which is a recode in C of MS firmware with tons of advanced additions. If you want more power and flexibility but Tomtek gives you indigestion, MS-AVR is the way to go!
