New Museum Show!
Realism in Fabric: The Sculpture of Lisa Lichtenfels
From November 16, 2005 through January 8, 2006 at the George Walter Vincent Smith Art Museum in Springfield, Massachusetts.
This exhibition features the sculptures, installations and photography of Lisa Lichtenfels. Elements of the show include:
The artist's most recent work shown to the public for the first time. These include ethnic portraits, fantasy figures, historical portraits and figures from mythology.
Life-sized soft-sculpted figures
Installations with figures in environments, including a recreation of a diorama, "The Krazy Horse Saloon," originally created in 1984 and reconstructed with new characters for this event. This large environment has 20 colorful characters done in an earlier, humorous style.
Instructional, interactive displays showing how the sculptures are created.
On the walls of the space will be 70 photographs taken and developed by the artist using the latest state-of-the-art color management software. These images shows the artist's best pieces over a 20-year span of time.

Open Wednesday through Friday, noon to 4 p.m.

$10.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors, $5.00 for college students,
