Jodi

Jodi - During the teenage years, a curious thing happens to the anatomy. The legs begin to grow a lot faster than the torso. I remember thinking while I was in high scool that the people surrounding me in gym class were all legs.

It is especially pronounced when the hips and the breasts are just starting to be developed. That was the idea of this piece. I just wanted to capture that developmental moment and play around with the consequences of the idea.

Jodi's face just came up on it's own while I was drawing and thinking about being physically limitless. I made her a fairie because in the real world, the body type and the sense of freedom are just fleeting. As a fairie, Jodi can be in that state forever.
