Photo Expressions: About Us

We are experienced, published photographers with a passion for photography and the "art of seeing." We own and operate Photo Expressions, located in Mountain View, California, 50 miles south of San Francisco.

Joy Rewick is an accomplished photographer and writer. Her images and photo essays have been published in Photo Techniques and Shutterbug magazines and on the cover of a compact disk produced by Windham Hill Records. Her work has been exhibited locally and she has received numerous photo awards.

Joy says, "My most satisfying means of expression is through my camera. I believe in approaching each subject as an artist - always striving for new ways to create images that invite many interpretations. I specialize in abstract designs, flower close-ups and scenics that tell a story."

B ob Rewick, a physical-inorganic research chemist, is an avid and active photographer. As a scientist, Bob has blended his technical knowledge of light, physics, and chemistry with the art of photography. Bob has published several photo essays in national photographic magazines: Camera & Darkroom, Shutterbug, Popular Photography, Photo Techniques, and Nature Photographer. He has written about microscope photography, the color zone system, film pre-fogging, feather and flower photography, and techniques to photograph spiders.

Bob especially enjoys using macro techniques, photographing abstracts and nature, and using wide angle, large depth-of-field perspectives. He has lectured on these subjects and has served as a judge for local photo competitions. He believes "a good photograph begins with the eye of the photographer, not with the price of the equipment."
