This proposal sends a bad message. It certainly is not the best way to prepare boys or girls for the world we all live in.

Their attitude was laissez-faire, let the market do what the market does, but it was a broken market. ... Here is a company that was as ribald, as brash, as swashbuckling and as unethical as any company I can possibly conceive of. And they had major access to this administration. But the senior senator from California can't get in to see them.

The milling cap of polar sea ice has thinned and shrunk, air temperatures high in the stratosphere have dropped sharply, and air and water at the sea surface have warmed.
Hereby nominated for best use of an "automated digital camera" and best use of, ahem, a wireless internet connection. And I thought it was cool.

If a company is going to issue press releases or any information to the consumer about their factories, they are going to have to tell the truth. That shouldn't upset any corporation.

Alan Caplan, whose client is suing Nike for statements it made about working conditions in its contract factories. The California Supreme Court ruled that companies are not protected by the First Amendment if they lie in their public statements.
And yet, Nike believes this will restrain them from defending their actions. Apparently, they believe lying is acceptable in the arena of public debate.
