South Carolina Pursuant to a warrant from W.L. Keith Esq. Commissioner of Location, in the District of Pickens dated the 22nd of January 1842. I have admeasured and laid out unto John W. Gassaway a tract of land containing Six hundred and seventy acres, situated in the District of Pickens on branches of Choestoe Creek waters of Tugalo River bounded by a line running N.W. by Coleman Fowlers land S.E. & N.E. by Samuel Addis land, S.E. by Smith Whites land, N.W. & S.W. by Thos. Holly's land, N.W, S.W & N.W. by Jacob Jones land and hath such form and marks as the above plat represents.-- The land has been heretofore Granted and the Survey I have now made was for the purpose of obtaining a new Grant. Surveyed the 26th day of January 1842.
