LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF THOMAS VISAGE

 

SOUTH CAROLINA
PICKENS DISTRICT.

 

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS THAT I, Thomas Visage, of the State and District before mentioned being in a low state of health but sound in mind and memory thank God, Amen, do here make and constitute this my last will and testament in the manner and form following -

First, I give soul to God from whence it came.

Secondly, I wish all my just debts paid after which I give to my son James Visage my Blacksmith tools and all the apparatuses thereto belonging.

Secondly, I give to my daughters Milly Visage and Mary Laurence the tract of land whereon I now live jointly between them during their natural lives and at their deaths or at the death of my daughter Milly the said land to be equally divided between the heirs of my said daughter Mary Laurence. I also give to my daughter Milly Visage all my household and kitchen furniture and all my farming utensils. I also give to my said daughter Milly my sorrel filly. I also give to my daughter Catharine Leathers and her heirs all of my part of that tract of land jointly surveyed by myself and my son James Visage and to be equally divided between us let the Grant come in whose name it may.

Lastly and finally I appoint my much esteemed friend E. Hughes Executor of this my last will and testament.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty-fifth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty.
