Nip/Tuck anyone?
OK, let's talk about the important stuff: Television. I'm absolutely addicted to The Shield and Rescue Me. (Am I the only one who thinks FX is the most innovative channel on television right now?). I missed the first season of Nip/Tuck, though, and I hate coming into a story late. So, anyone want to comment? Is it worth renting the first season and catching up? Thumbs up? Thumbs down?
And what about Joan of Arcadia? There's one that gets huge raves (and NOT FX !) and I'm very bummed I missed out on it. Why, why, why aren't they issuing the first season on DVD?
Comments:
I've never seen Nip/Tuck, but I do like Joan of Arcadia. It's not totally serial so you can probably watch it without too much confusion. And there's always reruns . . ..
Thanks! I think I probably will. I was afraid it built on itself too much, but it's definitely worth a shot if it doesn't. (I'm the girl who never watched Twin Peaks or Dallas or any other of a long list of shows b/c I didn't catch the first season and hated coming in "late"). The only reason I managed to get into X-files (before it, in my humble opinion, careened downhill fast) was that one of the MIS guys at my firm had taped the first two seasons and let me watch them. In exchange, he'd come over ever week and watch the then-current season w/ me and my husband on our big television! Not a bad deal all and all (and, David, if you're out there, hi!!)

Oh, oh, oh! I'm a TOTAL THE SHIELD addict - and I don't even have cable. I watched the DVDs of the first two seasons in like a week, LOL! And the 3rd season doesn't come out till March so I'm whining! I will be buying them, just don't tell the dh!
Oh, me too! We watched every episode last season ... except for ONE, and it was a key one. We've been searching for a repeat, but, well, damn! Anyway, we would buy the DVD's anyway. We also watched the first two season in a few days ... not as easy as it sounds when you have to wait until the toddler is in bed!

I love Nip/Tuck. It can be squemish/gorry at times but has great stories that are multilayered. I recommend getting season one on DVD. If you like Monk, Alias, Buffy, Angel, etc. you should like this. Upon buying a house and moving, I made sure to get satilite so I could see this among other cable only shows.

Great work!
