Confessions of an ebay-o-holic
OK, I'm not a TOTAL eBay-o-holic, but I do go through spurts. The latest, though, wasn't my fault. Really. I was just being a good parent ...
So, C's tricycle wasn't working right. The handlebar was moving inside the stem so the handle would move and the wheel wouldn't, and no amount of tightening would fix it. Note to Radio Flyer people: FIX THIS DESIGN. Anyhoo, after umpteen attempts to tighten the thing so that an aggressive two year old can't loosen it, I finally decide to suck it up and search for another tricycle. I decide eBay's my best bet. Used would be tried and true, right?
Found two great trikes on eBay, both high end, high performance machines (hehe) and I bid on both, figuring either one would be fine.
Meantime, I'm in Home Depot (I confess ... I'd choose Home Depot over Nordstrom's any day. Does that mean I'm not cool???) and I'm wandering the aisles trying to remember why I was there in the first place (lightbulbs, it turns out. weird little halogen lights that go in this cute little fixture the prior owners of our house installed). Anyway, I ran across the epoxy/superglue/bond-it-from-hell section. Why not? I think. I buy Gorilla Glue b/c epoxy sounds just too freakin' complicated.
The next weekend we're back at the new house (where the trike is) and I try it. Seems to work great!
We come home. I check my email. I've won BOTH trikes on eBay.
Sigh.
So. Now I guess C really must make friends at our new house. Two friends to be exact so that she can share her fleet of trikes....
