6/1/07 With the price of gas expected to hit $4 a gallon in the near future I started to get interested in hybrid
vehicles. After looking at the price tags and talking to a technician friend I decided to convert a car
to a plug in Electric Vehicle (EV).
After poking around the web and talking to a few EV'ers I noticed that many coversions strived for 60+ mile range and
cost between $6000 and $12000 to complete.
I did some more research and calculating and arrived at a set of more modest (some may say aggressive) goals: 30 mile
range and a less than $5000 total budget. Plus I wanted it to look decent.
