In May Decca emerges victorious in a court suit brought by Supreme Records, contending that Decca stole the arrangement in covering Paula Watson's original version of "A Little Bird Told Me" with their version of the song by Evelyn Knight. Also in May Joe Thomas, saxist, arranger, and composer,is named head of Decca's R & B department. Decca's Buddy Johnson recording of "Did You See Jackie Robinson Hit That Ball?" is to be used by Eagle-Lion Films in the promotion for the soon to be released motion picture "The Jackie Robinson Story"
