Weather

Many other folks have much more thorough link pages than I intend to create. Two excellent comprehensive pages are Greg Thompson's UCAR page and  Kevin's model page . Here is  a lengthy list of weather sites on the internet including National Weather Service forecast office home pages and university departments.

Tornado chasing

New in 2003! Stephen's chase page for the May 10, 2003 tornado outbreak

Tornado-chasing is a dangerous activity which should not be done alone, at night, or by driving through rain and hail cores to get to the interesting spot. And it should be done with someone knowledgable and experienced who can recognize and correctly interpret the visual clues in a rapidly changing situation. The  Stormchaser homepage provides a comprehensive resource for the novice and the experienced alike. It has now merged with the StormTrack website, go to the "Library" page.

I have two tornado chase reports on the internet with pictures and scientific discussion -  Oakfield, WI F5 tornado of 18 July 1996 and  Roseville, IL F2 tornado of 13 May 1995 . The one from the Oakfield tornado has extensive meteorological (not damage) documentation including Doppler radar images. These web pages have disappeared - Marty Forsythe was hosting them for me on his Centerone site (Oakfield report has 50mb worth of data images!) and since he moved some stuff around there in early 2001, I have not been able to find my site - if you find it let me know!
