Jewish Singles

There's lots of sites for posting and viewing personals from around the country and around the world. The two I like best because they allow you to actually write something substantive and meaningful about yourself (unfortunately not everyone takes advantage of this) are  Yenta and  JDate . Unfortunately Yenta is only free for the first month, but it is much cheaper than an introduction service! An extensive table of links to various Jewish singles internet sites (mostly personals sites) can be found here.

If you're in the DC area, you can get on the weekly email list by sending a request to the live person (it's not a listserv)  Singles@kosher.com and for the monthly Rockville JCC singles list, email to  Harley Liebenson .

There are also Basherte workshops.

However, my feeling is the best way to meet someone is by being involved in something you are passionate about. Obviously it hasn't worked for me yet... but my chances are much better in Maryland than when I was living in Madison, WI (which is a great place to live).
