Movement is basic to all life. Plants turn toward the sun to get nourishment.  We reach and go toward what we need. The quality of our movement affects the quality of our experience.  Stress, injury, and habit can lead to movement patterns that create a negative cycle of limitations.  The goal of The Feldenkrais Method of Somatic Education is to provide renewed choice in how we move through our daily life.

Every move one makes involves the whole person - not just a finger, a foot, or a knee.  True change begins when we become aware of how each part habitually cooperates with, or resists what we intend.  Once we sense these relationships, we have options.  Our nervous system has the innate intelligence to recognize and assimilate the patterns that are most beneficial  - the ways that use our energy efficiently, with less wasted effort and less harmful stress.   It’s all about how we organize ourselves… how we use the resources we have.
