We
believe there is one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy
6:4-5, Romans 8, Ephesians 1:13-14)
We
believe God created mankind, and loves us so much he sent his son Jesus
Christ to die for our sins. (1st Corinthians 15:1-8, John
3:16-17, John 1, 2nd Corinthians 5:21)
We
believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, unchanging word of God
and is the final authority in our life and doctrine. (2
Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 4:12)
We
believe the church is the body of Christ on earth, whose mission is
reaching the lost and discipling the saved, helping them become fully
devoted followers of Christ. (Ephesians 4:1-16, Matthew
28:18-20, Mark 16:15-16)
We
believe salvation is a free gift of God, and that the death of Christ on
the cross is the only sufficient payment for our sins. Everyone
has sinned, and all can be forgiven and saved through Christ. (Romans
3:23, Romans 6:23, John 3:16-17)
We
believe that God freely bestows salvation on all who believe in Christ,
repent of their sins, confess Christ as Lord, and are immersed in water
(baptism). (Romans 10:9
& 6:3-4, Acts 2:38 & 22:16, Colossians 2:11-15)
We
believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and that He
will one day return to raise all mankind--those who reject Him to
judgment, and those who accept Him to eternal life with God.
(I Thessalonians 4:13-18, John 11:25-26, Matthew 25:31-46)
In
essential beliefs — we have unity.
"There is one body
and one Spirit--just as you were called to one hope when you were
called--one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who
is over all and through all and in all." Ephesians 4:4-6 (NIV)
In
non-essential beliefs — we have liberty.
"Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing
judgment on disputable matters... Who are you to judge someone
else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls... So
then each of us will give an account of himself to God... So
whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and
God." Romans 14:1,4,12,22 (NIV)
In
all our beliefs — we show charity.
"If
I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all
knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not
love, I am nothing." 1st Corinthians 13:2 (NIV)
