12/27/2005 - Jared just completed recording for The Great Luke Ski's new single which should be appearing
on the Dr. Demento show come early January. It once again features the voice talents of Carrie Dahlby and they even got a
Sax player in the mix. Turnidoff's first brass appearance!
12/14/2005 - John and Jared met with Director R.P.Whalen to preview the rough audio mix of "Mondo Collecto".
It seemed like they were going in the right direction and with only a few touch-ups and some mixing ahead, the score will
be ready for the film...
...and the film will be ready for THE WORLD!!!
12/01/2005 - Turnidoff Productions was informed by John Mapes and Jared Ringold that all the preliminary
track recording for the "Mondo Collecto" soundtrack has been completed. It has been their most ambitious project to date,
and also their first since the disintegration of "The Nick Atoms" in October.
Director R.P. Whalen was quoted as saying
that he, "Trusts whatever we come up with for his film." so composer John Mapes decided to pull out everything he could think
of while watching "Mondo Collecto" and throw out everything he knew about songwriting at that point... and what he came up
with was like nothing he had ever done before.
Producer/Engineer and Percussionist Jared Ringold recalls the recording
session: "I didn't know what the hell he wanted from me. He rarely make any musical sense... but when he did, THAT'S what
we used for the soundtrack... and it works."
The Band "The G. Wildens" perform the main theme song to "Mondo Collecto"
and are accompanied by female vocalist Sarah Craven. John used the theme of the wild Go-Go 60's and lounge style to be an
overall sound which he thinks, "Should fit this film perfectly".
A Soundtrack that is just as unique and varied as
the film is itself. "Mondo Collecto" sould be a visual and aural feast for everyone!
11/30/2005 - Turnidoff Productions is hard at work completing the film score to MONDO COLLECTO!
