This plane was similar to the Anabat, but in a smaller, and somewhat more conventional package. I say conventional because it uses a tapered RG-15 wing, rather then the straight and fully symmetrical one on the Anabat. As a result of this, the plane flies much more like a "real" slope glider. Energy retention is good, and it will fly in light lift. Roll are quick, and it will do good outside snaps too. It is also faster then the Anabat. It's been my experience that the Whirlwinds seem fairly tolerant of damage, and will continue to have good performance even after getting beaten up. My main gripe is that it is too small. You can put standard gear in it (I don't think the extra weight will hurt that much), but it's a tight fit, and you have to dig out quite a bit of the foam fuse to do it. On the other hand, the smaller size may make it a bit more survivable on ground impacts.
