This much maligned kit is, IMO, a very nice plane to learn on. It may not be as light as a Gentle Lady, but as a slope trainer, it works very well. It's very inexpensive, quick and easy to build and easy to fly. It will fly in light wind, and best of all, it takes much more punishment then a built up plane could. Break the fuse in half? No problem! Slap some epoxy on it and you're back flying 20 minutes later. One modification must be made, though- The forward fuse must be reinforced with a couple extra spars running inside the fuse, from the nose back to about the C.G. If this isn't done, the fuse will break in half just in front of the wing on anything but the gentlest landings. Also, make sure to put enough dihedral in those wings. My plane would barely turn at all on the on the first few flights. Eventually, I cut the wing in half and added a bit more dihedral then the instructions recommended, then it flew great. My plane served its purpose very well, but eventually it got too thrashed and heavy to fly in anything but good lift. I think I threw it away.
